Infectious agents of poultry are a threat to poultry health and, at times, human health and have significant social and
economic implications.
In poultry production, especially under intensive conditions, prevention is the most viable and
economically feasible approach to the control of infectious agents.
Biosecurity procedures should be implemented with the objective of preventing the introduction and dissemination ofinfectious agents in the poultry production chain.
We as, AfyaMIFUGO Tz, all Vets and other stakeholders it is our duty to deliver the knowledge of Biosecurity to the livestock farmers in order to enhence adoption and implementation ofthe principles of Good Farming Practices and the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) system.
Finally we can end up minimizing the effects of Antibacterial resistance for the benefit of our animals, environments and human health.
